Owing to a small minority last year, and licensing regulations, we will not be allowing any liquids, alcohol, water onto site. This is inline with all major sporting events in UK. The regulations will be vigourously upheld in order not to ruin any other future event licenses on the estate.
To explain a little about why we have said for drink to be purchased on site:Unfortunately, on the last two occasions, there were some guests who couldn't handle their alcohol. This led to police becoming involved on both occasions.
The licencing guidelines (and licencing staff) consider that we, as organisers, have a duty of care to protect our guests from unreasonable behavior caused by alcohol excess. We have been advised by the licensing authorities that imposing a restriction on alcohol will offer that protection.
We also have to protect our reputation and business future.
The risk of losing the support of the authorities has led us to make this decision.
